Polyester DTY (Drawn Textured Yarn) is produced by drawing and texturizing Polyester POY to introduce bulk, softness, stretch and texture. The texturizing process creates a crimped, coiled structure that gives DTY its characteristic feel and performance. What is the difference between NIM, SIM and HIM DTY?
NIM (Non Intermingled), SIM (Semi Intermingled) and HIM (High Intermingled) refer to the degree of air entanglement applied during texturizing. HIM provides greater cohesion during downstream processing, while NIM has no entanglement.
